Jack Russell Dog’s Car Boot Adventures – Woof, Woof! A dog’s eye view with yours truly!

Hello, my fellow tail-waggers and treat-givers! It’s me, your favourite Jack Russell with a nose for adventure and a belly that’s never too full for one more snack. Guess what day it is? It’s Tuesday, the most glorious day of the week, and you know what that means—Farmer Palmer’s Car Boot Sale time!

Now, let me tell you, when the shiny sun peeks out and the sky is all blue, there’s nothing better than hopping into the car with my human, Dave. We’re off to the Car Boot Sale, and it’s paws-itively the highlight of my week. I get to sit in my special spot, tied to the gate, where I’m the official watcher of all the comings and goings. My job? To ensure no one sneaks in without giving me a good ear scratch or—better yet—a treat!

Jack Russel Dog at Field Gate on lead

Hi, I’m Jack and I love meeting you all at the Farmer Palmer’s Car Boot Sale.

Car Boot People Are The Best!

Oh, and the people! So many lovely humans who just can’t resist my delightful charms. There’s a group of ladies who I’m convinced are treat fairies in disguise. They always dig into their pockets or rummage through their Tupperware, and guess what they find? Treats! Now, I may have had breakfast, but there’s always room for a little something extra, especially when it comes with a side of tail-wagging encouragement. I’ve mastered the art of turning one treat into three—just watch me!

As the day unfolds, and the crowd grows bigger, I get to see all sorts of exciting things. The human pups, (you call them kids, right?), having de-cluttered their rooms, come all bundled up, half-asleep in the back of cars to wake up to a morning of selling their old toys and outgrown clothes. It’s funny to see them go from bleary-eyed to bright-eyed when they start eying up the other stalls. They’re just like me – always on the hunt for treasures! Although, I have to say, my idea of treasure usually involves a ball or something edible. Oh, this is the best part—the little ones use their hard-earned coins to buy more treasures. It’s like one big game of fetch, but with more steps and less running.

People Travel From Far and Wide!

And get this—people travel from far and wide to visit Farmer Palmer’s Car Boot Sale. Places with fancy names like Aldershot, Brighton and Norfolk. I’ve heard some humans even go on Car Boot holidays, hopping from sale to sale like they’re on some grand treasure hunt. Sounds like a lot of work, but hey, if they are having fun it’s more people for me to meet and more stories to hear, I’m all for it!

One of my favourite regulars is a sweet lady who grows and sells amazing fruit or veggies straight from her garden. I am sure they are something special because her stall sells out faster than I can chase my tail! Another lady bakes fragrant cakes to sell for charity. I mean, I’m more of a meat and biscuits kind of dog but been known to munch a carrot (because Dave says they are good for me to see in the dark) or scoff a cake!

Breakfast from Van’s Van!

And speaking of smells, the bacon butties from the catering van are the stuff of dreams. The scent drifts over to me, and I swear, my mouth starts watering faster than you can say “Sit, boy!”. People sit at the tables, drinking coffee, chatting, maybe gossip but always putting the world to rights, although from where I sit there isn’t much wrong.

Three older men called Dave in a field.

Dave, Dave and Dave with me at my welcome post.

I’ve got my eye on all the new faces, too. The kind people in their mobility scooters who are looking for bargains. My doggie sense tells me that each one could be a future member of my exclusive Treat Supplier Club. The more, the merrier, I say! And don’t even get me started on the three guys named Dave, here every week, come rain or shine. Thankfully they’re the trio that set you all up for the day, always there, rain or shine. But, just between us, I stay in the car until things dry up when it’s wet! A dog’s gotta stay cozy, you know?

Come on Down!

So, if you’ve go a Tuesday morning free, why not come down to the car boot sale? I’ll be there, on duty, with my best smile and wagging tail to greet you and keep a close watch on things. I love seeing my doggie friends too, on leads, who visit and chat every week. Come say hello! I am sure you’ll find a bargain or that essential thing that makes you happy and maybe, just maybe, you’ll join my ever-growing circle of treat-giving friends.

Until next time, happy sniffing and tail wagging!

Paws and licks,

Your Favourite Jack Russell 🐾
